Are you tired of continually cleaning your house and realizing how quickly it gets dirty again? It is absolutely frustrating. Cleaning is a time and energy-consuming task that must be completed in order to create the most comfortable environment for your home (unless you prefer dirtiness of course). Here are some tips to maintain the cleanliness of your home for a longer period:
1. Most people press their furniture, such as their sofa or bed, right up against the wall. However, this leads to smudges and marks, which will eventually lead to more cleaning work for you. Make sure to place your furniture about 6 inches from the wall to avoid this problem. In addition, this will allow you to have breathing space to clean up dusty corners.
2. Do not let your dishes pile up meal after meal. As the stack gets higher and the longer you leave this stack in its dirty condition, the harder it is to clean later. Make sure you clean dishes or put them away in the dishwasher right away to avoid smelling up your kitchen and creating a longer cleanup task for later. Maintain the cleanliness of your kitchen, one of the significant sections of your home.
3. Are you tired of having to continually clean your sheets? Make sure you have backups, so you can simply throw your used sheets in the laundry basket and extend the time between having to clean your sheets. If you have pets, make sure to keep them off the bed as well. Maintain the cleanliness of your personal quarters for a more comfortable, happier living environment.
4. After you finish doing laundry, make sure to keep your washing machine free of excess moisture by leaving the door open for at least an hour. If excess moisture builds up inside the washing machine, mold and mildew will have an ideal environment to grow, leading to smelly clothing. If you’re washing your clothes, but they come out smelly, it kind of defeats the purpose, doesn’t it?
5. If you have a pet, especially a furry one, then you must know how annoying it is to have their hair shed all over your house. In order to minimize the amount of hair dirtying up your home, make sure to give your pets a quick wipe with a microfiber cloth or specialty pet wipe each day. This will lead to less hair on your furniture and floor and will ultimately lead to less vacuuming, leading you to maintain a longer period of cleanliness in your home.
6. If you notice something dirty in your house, don’t put it off. This is another version of procrastinating. How hard is your work when you leave it off to the last second? You feel pressured and stressed out. When you see something that requires some tidying, do it right away so you avoid enlarging your cleanup task list later.
7. When shopping, be sure you don’t buy too many things that cannot be stored properly at your house. Sometimes, impulsive buyers end up buying too many things that lead to excess clutter in their homes. Excess clutter leads to more messes to clean up. Before shopping, make a list to ensure that each item you buy has a place in your home. In other words, if you don’t love it or you don’t need it, avoid buying it.
8. Have you ever noticed that a brightly lit room looks cleaner than a dark, gloomy one? Light naturally makes your house look brighter and more inviting, especially if it is clean. Of course, cleaning a lot of windows is extra work, but in the long run, it is worth it. Most people would rather be in a home that is brightly lit, rather than a dark, dingy one.
